Transformers 2 Review – poopicons
by admin on Jun.26, 2009, under Films
Transformers 1 in my mind was an OK movie, not a total waste of 2 hours of my life but not the most entertaining 2 hours of my life either. I understand that it must be pretty hard to develop the transformers comic into a real life action movie and also make it feel real. However in Transformers 2 what they did was waste 2 hours, the acting was not great and the story line was very weak, get ready for Transformers 3 as it is coming.
I did like the fact the leading girl in it is hotter than the previous one, and also the history of the ‘Primes’ was told very well. However the story line as a whole was not too good and the acting by Shia LaBeouf was terrible, he is just not a leading acting and cannot hold the screen.
I did feel that there were transformers coming out left right and center and the movie special effects were good, however I was lost with all the transformers.
One major point was that I though Optimus Prime has taken a few fighting classes as he kicked arse in this one where as in Transformers one he got his arse kicked a lot more. It was as if he had some stuff downloaded from the Matrix and said ‘I now know Kung Fu’.
The 3 movies I would take to the desert Island
by admin on Mar.31, 2009, under Films
So imagine your ship went down in the Pacific Ocean and you were able to scramble onto a raft on your own and then you end up on a small desert Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. On the Island are coconut palms and small hut with a flat screen DVD and HD DVD player which works on solar power. A Genni appears and say he will grant you three film wishes for movies that you can watch (kind of odd I know but run with me here!!). What would be the 3 movies you would pick? Tell me in the comments, below are mine:
1) Godfather II – probably the best performance by Al Pacino and of course the finest Godfather movie. Godfather I was a great film however seeing the rise of Michael Corleone to the head of the Mafia all throughout the US and the killing of his enemies is just draw dropping. Also this is one of few films you can watch over and over again and see little details every time and therefore understand even further. (continue reading…)
Pride and Glory Movie Review

Pride and Glory Movie Review
I was doubtful about watching this movie to begin with as I have never been a huge Edward Norton or Colin Farrell fan, especially after seeing Edward Norton in the Incredible Hulk and Colin Farrell in the recruit, I thought both films were just 5/10 films. Colin gained some respect from the film ‘In Bruges’ however Edward Norton for me and Colin Farrell are not lead roles, I do not feel they can hold a movie on their own like Tom Hanks and other great actors, however i am sure they will get there.
Pride and Glory is a movie about the NYPD and the corruption within it. I think it was meant to be filmed after the 9/11 terrorism act however it was benched until a better time. Colin Farrell plays the dirty brother in law cop that is a hired hit man and drug dealer. After Colin Farrells guys get slaughtered in a raid they is uproar in the department and a Task Force is put together to find out what happened of which Edward Norton heads. John Voight plays the father of Ed Norton and the father in law of Colin Farrell and is the long serving police chief.
It all ends in tears as expected however the story line is good and the acting good as well. Both Colin and ed are now larger blips on my Hollywood actor. A great fim and I would rate this a 6.5-7/10.
Role Models the Movie – Seann William Scott (Stiffler American Pie)
by admin on Mar.26, 2009, under Films
I saw the trailer for the new Role Models movie and it looked like a laugh. It has been a while since I have seen a decent comedy fil, i was a little let down by Will Ferrell’s ‘Step Brother’ movie, it was good however not fantastic, ‘Old School’ still holds the prime position.
So i was in the video shop the other day and saw that the film where was there, not too sure if it was released here in Costa Rica yet, but as with anything in Costa Rica I did not ask any questions, especially as the quality was a 10.
The film has a great cast with the main characters being Paul Rudd of ‘40 year old Virgin’, Seann William Scott of ‘American pie’ and Jayne Lynch of ‘40 year old virgin’, the f**k buddy boss.
However Bobbie J Thompson plays the highly racist black kid and Christoper Mintz of ‘Super Bad’ plays Augie the geek. (continue reading…)
