Wow, I never seen an election anything like this. The norm for me being from the UK is a bunch of old people with manifestos and people shaking each others hand in order to get votes. If the current government does badly and is labour, then the conservatives will get it, if the current government is conservative and does badly then labour will get in. UK politics is always a see saw from one party to the next.
However in Costa Rica the election is a joyous ocassion for one of the top democracies in the world and the happiest country in the world!! You will find cars decorated with their parties flags as well as stickers all over the car and a highten use of the cars horn to communicate pleasure or recognition to another car of its decoration. Kids and families line the streets swaying flags of their parties colours. (continue reading…)
My Life – Bill Clinton

I am a big fan of Bill Clinton, even after the Monica Lewinsky scandal I still thing he is a stand up guy and did a good job. I think he cares about the US and wants to make the world a better place, but at the end of the day who knows right?
So I was about to take a long flight from Miami to London one day with my wife and wanted something for the flight to read. So what better to read than the Bill Clinton autobiography.
It started off very good with him telling us about his background and also how he got into politics etc, however it then took a nose turn and in my opinion turned into a book about people he met that he either became good friends with or fell out with, later to become best of friends. It was like name dropping but name dropping people that are not in today’s limelight. It was difficult to read towards the end and now I feel like this book overall was a D-? Every page could be summarised as ” I met John and we became best of friends for ever” or ” I met John and we became best of friends, then we fell out, then made up and now are best of friends”.
I mean no offence to Bill as I am sure he is a stand up guy but the middle to the end of the book was terrible. If you are thinking of reading it please just read up until he becomes Governor. Give it a go and let me know your thoughts maybe this is just the ramblings of a mad man??
